Invitation from Hornby Models to the launch of Pocher 917K at the Hornby Wonderworks.
I was contacted by Hornby Models to support the launch of 1/8th scale Pocher 917K at the Hornby Wonderworks in Margate.
Invitation to display and be interviewed on stage about our Icon 917K at the Pistonheads Annual Service at the Bicester Heritage Centre.
I was contacted by the Pistonheads team to display and be interviewed on stage about our Icon 917K homage project.
Invitation to the launch of the “Half Scale Cars” Porsche 917.
I was contacted by the Half Scale Cars team, asking if I would like to support their launch of the Porsche 917K, at which Derek Bell and Richard Attwood would be in attendance.
Brands Hatch Track Day
Was a rather wet drive to Brands at 7am, but weather started to improve as we arrived.
Hagerty Clubhouse in the Bicester Heritage Centre
I was invited to display the 917 at the new Hagerty Clubhouse.
Invited again by Steve Wood Autofarm and Frank Cassidy to display at Boxengasse
After missing 2021 due to being cancelled, and then on holiday in 2022, Steve Wood contacted me to ask if I would display in 2023.
Hampton Court Concours with the Drivers Union August 2023
I was or should I say, the 917 was invited to attend this event at the Hampton Court Concours.
Le Mans Classic Trip to display my Icon 917K at Village on the Curves
I was going to trailer the 917, but decided to drive the 900mile trip and managed to book lunch at the Hotel de France in Logis where John Wyer had his workshops nearby.
JD Classic Open Days
JD Classics contacted me via Instagram and asked if the would be interested in displaying the 917 at their last 2023 open day, and again in January and of course I said yes.
NEC Classic Car Show with Motorsport Travel Destinations (MTD)
I received a call from Alex at Electrogenic that Motorsport Travel Destinations (MTD) wanted a Le Mans car to display on their stand at the NEC.
Pistonheads 25th Anniversary at the Bicester Heritage Hanger and Grounds
The original advert for the body panels was on eBay back August 2011, and this was picked-up and run on Pistonheads
First MOT (Ministry of Transport) Test
The 917 was first registered September 1st 2019, and under UK law you must take for an MOT test after 3 years.
Collecting my grandson Zach from his last day of school before the summer holidays-July 2023
One of his school mates had photographed the 917 at a Brands event a few weeks earlier and showed the photo around the class, and Zach said “that’s my grandad’s car” and no one believed him!
Martin Stretton visit to see his workshops and historic collection of cars
Martin as many know a very accomplished Masters Historic F1 and Sports Cars pilot. He came to chat at the Brands Historic where I was displaying the 917.
Porsche Event at Little Eastern Manor in Dunmow arranged by Guy Feltham aka Askgeez
Guy contacted me to ask if I could display the 917 at his Porsche event, and being just down the road to me in Dunmow of course I and the 917 went along. Great event with hundreds of Porsches, and a comparison of height!
London Concours with the Drivers Union
I was or should I say the 917 was invited to attend this event at the Royal Artillery Showground in central London
The Kent Porsche Club asked if I would attend their 75th Porsche anniversary meeting at Brands
I have met the Kent club team several times at Brands, and said I would love to attend.
Invite to a corporate day at Brands in the Braham Stewart complex organised by Neil Key (NEIL ‘BLUE’)
Neil organises several events per year and help young drivers to get that foot on the ladder.
96 Club visit and photo shoot by Tom Callaghan (Supercarseurope)
I negotiated the central London traffic to the 96 Club, and meet Tom who I had commissioned to do a photo shoot outside Eaton Terrace.
Invited to a coffee morning by Neil Key (NEIL ‘BLUE’) at HWM Aston Martin, the OEM’s oldest dealership
M25 wasn’t to bad as a Saturday morning but the local road to HWM were rather pot holed

This was held in the iconic Olympia Exhibition Hall in London
Invited by the Porsche Club to the Porsche Christmas event at Bicester Heritage Hanger
I had the 917 taken in Alex’s enclosed trailer as rather cold with a heavy frost and lots of salt on the roads!

Sleeping with Art exhibition at Hedsor House, a grand Victorian house near Taplow
I spotted an Instagram post which was called Sleeping with Art, and thought I have been sleeping with art for the last 10 years!
Castle Combe Track day with the rather famous Richard Attwood
Longest drive so far 300 mile round trip, never missed a beat.
London Concours with the Drivers Union (DU)

Brands Hatch Club 96 Evening Track Day on the Indy Circuit
The 96 Club meets every second Sunday in Chesham Place just off Belgrave Square in central London.
Retromotive Article. This was arranged by Michael Hodges
Retromotive are a beautiful coffee table top magazine.
The Drivers Union (run by the amazing Sy) arranged a meeting and display at the Brands GT Endurance event

96 Club Breakfast meets in Chesham Place, Belgravia, central London
They meet the 2nd Sunday of the month and I was invited to join as a friend.
Jonny Smith’s The Late Brake Show (TLBS) video of our Icon 917K
Michael Hodges suggested I contacted Jonny Smith (ex 5th Gear presenter) who now runs his YouTube channel TLBS on interesting cars and barn finds etc.

Brands Hatch MSA Track Day on the Indy Circuit
Passed the noise test at 99DB with the IVA system fitted, and then 5 different drivers including the one and only Mike Wilds.

Brands Hatch GP Circuit RMA Track Day
Decided to have a go on the GP circuit, but a RMA track day and passing on both sides which for me was a major problem.
Invited to display at the Porsche Colchester Showroom
I was contacted by the showroom manager to ask if I would loan the 917 to be displayed in their showroom along with several other historic Porsches to celebrate the reopening after Covid.
Photoshoot in Stratford and Kensington by Virgiliu Andone for Petrolicious
This was an experience, as drove into London Startford then around and around the elevated car park area, and then at Exhibition Road Kensington, no idea how many times I went round the mini-roundabout but the 917 behaved perfectly.

We did a daytime shoot locally in Essex and a night shoot which was in the London docklands area.

We were invited to the Marshalls track day on a very wet December day!
Porsche Club Christmas Event at Bicester Heritage Hanger
Invited to display by the club and this was the first long distance drive 110 miles each way.
Porsche 2019 Annual Awards at Hanbury Manor
This was (from memory) the first Shell station visit after road registration, and subsequent road trip and first Porsche event I was invited to display at.

This was the following day to the Autofarm Stowe trackday, and invited by Frank Cassidy and Autofarm MD Steve Wood.

I was invited to this track day by Autofarm MD Steve Wood, and a certain Mike Wild’s was there.
Invited to attend the Silverstone Classic by Pistonheads
Great event, did a lap of Silverstone with the Pistonheads cars, and invited to display in the Porsche Club area.
IVA Test
Only a few revisions required to pass the IVA (Individual Vehicle Approval) 4 hour test for road legality.
Goodwood Supercar Breakfast
I applied to attend the Supercar Breakfast meet, and they gave the car pride of place opposite the main entrance.
Octane Article at Bruntingthorpe
This was arranged via Michael Hodges who know James Elliott (the Octane editor) personnelly.
London Classic Car Show at the ExCel
I was invited to drive my Icon 917 on the Grand Avenue.

Arriving via trailer at Bentwaters airfield for Johnny Tipler’s article still wrapped in Siffert Gulf colours from Goodwood.
First time the wheels turned in anger at Track and Road rolling road in Rainham Essex
I was recommend to contact a Steve Greenold to set-up the DTA engine map to get her running in my garage, so the first time John’s engine rebuild ran was November 2018.
Invited to display at the Porsche Festival at Brands
Lovely weather and huge interest in the project.
2018 FOS Porsche 70th Anniversary Central Feature
My partner John Hartland was contacted by Jack Tetley of ROFGO, after he was asked by the Duke of Richmond and Porsche Factory to loan my Icon 917K to be displayed on the June 2018 FOS Porsche 70th Central Feature.
Rolling Chassis with bonded Bodyshell
November 2016 with 964 3.6L & G50, ahead of 3 years fitting-out of everything inside the bodyshell, floors, bulkhead, dash, windscreen, windows, wiring, gearchange, and most importantly getting the engine running!
